Onich is situated along the route from Edinburgh to Skye with the options to explore: Fort William (20 minutes drive north), Glencoe (20 minutes drive east), the UK's most westerly point on the mainland Ardnamurchan Point & Sanna beach (1 hour 45 minutes drive west) and Oban (50 minutes drive south).

Onich to Fort William

Onich to Fort William is a short 17 minute drive north on the A82. Fort William, known as the outdoor capital of the UK and the gateway to Ben Nevis, offers a mix of sport, history and its own whisky distillery.

Onich to Glencoe

Onich to Glencoe is a quick 16 minute drive on the A82. Travelling east, you will pass through Glencoe Village on the way to the Glencoe itself. Glencoe has many attractions including the Glencoe Visitor Centre, Glencoe Greenway (for walking or cycling), An Torr/Signal Rock (historical gathering place), The Clachaig Inn (a modern gathering place with great food, drinks and live music).

Onich to Oban

Onich to Oban is a 50 minute drive south mostly on the A828. This scenic coastal route offers many excellent views, with a particular highlight being the Castle Stalker - built in 1540 on an island. Oban, the seafood capital of Scotland, blends fine dining, history, scenic views and transport links to the islands including Mull, Lismore and Tiree.

Onich to Ardnamurchan Point

Onich to Ardnamurchan Point / Ardnamurchan Lighthouse is a 1 hour and 50 minute drive west. The journey begins by taking the Corran Ferry a short distance and then travelling along the A861 passing through noteworthy spots such as Strontian and Salen. The Lighthouse is the most westerly point in the UK mainland. A short distance (approximately 2 km) north is the beautiful Sanna beach.
